If you’re anything like me, you might find that you eat a few too many mince pies during December and maybe you have a bit too much to drink with all those Christmas parties...
So who doesn’t want to feel a bit healthier after all that overindulgence eh?!
Well help is at hand! I am running the Nightingale Fitness January Jumpstart programme to get you back on track!
It’s absolutely FREE! Anyone can do it! And I guarantee you will feel better for it!
So what’s involved?
In a nutshell, you will stay booze-free and do a 15 minute workout (provided by me) every day, for 28 days. Plus, take part in some optional group weekend activities. All your achievements will be rewarded with a star scoring system and there will be some prizes at the end!
How do I take part?
Please like the Nightingale Fitness Facebook page. All the info, events and rules will be posted here!
Click to say that you are attending the January Jumpstart event. (It won’t be an actual event, but it will gauge who is taking part!) And click to say you are attending the weekend events you can come to.
Email me your fitness assessment results on Sunday 1st January AND Monday 30th January (as per detail below). These will be kept private and are to monitor your progress.
Then do the workout every day which I will post a video of on the @nightingalefitness Facebook page. (Note: it will be the same every day, it will be straightforward, no equipment necessary AND it will be suitable for all abilities!)
Stay away from the booze. And come along to the weekend events.
So how exactly does it work?
Sunday 1st January
a) Start 2017 as you mean to go on! Haul yourself off the sofa for a 5 minute fitness assessment. Record how many sit ups you can do in a minute. Followed by star jumps. Followed by press ups. Followed by squats. Followed by burpees.
b) Send me your fitness assessment results (this is your baseline) and post a status or pic of yourself on Facebook or Instagram or Twitter hashtagging #nightingalefitfam.
Monday 2nd January – Sunday 29th January
a) Do the 15 minute workout every day, which I will post a video of on the @nightingalefitness Facebook page. AND post a status or pic of yourself on Facebook or Instagram or Twitter hashtagging #nightingalefitfam. Award yourself 1 star for each day you successfully complete.
b) Stay booze-free every day. Award yourself 1 star for each day you successfully complete.
PLUS, come to optional events to do extra exercise and gain extra stars:
Saturday 7th January – Join me for 5k Park Run @ 9am @ Greenham Common*
Saturday 14th January – Join me for a FREE bootcamp @11am @ Victoria Park*
Saturday 21st January – Join me for 5k Park Run @ 9am @ Greenham Common*
Saturday 28th January – Join me for a walk from Newbury to Kintbury, meeting at the bandstand in Victoria Park at 10.30am* It is a 6 mile walk, one way, but there is a pub at the end for rehydration (non-alcoholic of course) and then there is the option to jump on the train back to Newbury.
*1 weekend event attended = 1 star, 2 weekend events = 2 stars, 3 weekend events = 4 stars, 4 weekend events = 8 stars
Monday 30th January
a) Leap off the sofa (now you are super fit!) and repeat the 5 minute fitness assessment from Sunday 1st January, recording your results. Post a status or pic of yourself on facebook or Instagram or twitter hashtagging #nightingalefitfam.
b) Add up your stars for the month. (Out of a maximum total of 64!)
c) Email me your results from the fitness assessment and your total stars. Be honest!!!
Wednesday 1st Feb – winners and prizes will be announced. Go team!!!
